Jim and Kyle headed out on the Sneaky this morning after waiting out some rain showers. After the rain passed it turned out to be a beautiful morning and we started off with some Ribbon fishing. They were finicky at first but when they started biting it was game on! After we caught all we wanted we did some shark fishing and it was pretty good with a much larger class of Sharpnose. The afternoon was much slower on the ribbons and we headed in a little early due to some storms moving in. Thanks for fishing on the Sneaky guys!
Yesterday was quite an adventure. We started off catching all kinds of bottom fish in the sound then tried some Drum fishing but only caught one out of 3 bites. Ribbonfishing was pretty good then we headed out to some pretty water and caught a small Cobia and a couple sharks. We saw a huge Hammerhead free swimming on top.and. a Sea Turtle cleaning its shell with a small block of wood which was a first for me. After that we headed out to an artificial reef to try to catch Amberjacks but they just weren’t biting. We saw another Cobia and lots of Dolphins on the way home. Still waiting on the Cobia and Shark pics plus some video of the Hammer and Turtle. Thanks Scott it was a beautiful day on the water!.
Mike and his crew had some great Ribbonfishing this afternoon. We did one drift and caught all we wanted. After finding poor conditions for Drum fishing we tried for some Flounder. We caught quite a few but never got any big enough to keep. We also caught lots of Pigfish, Sea Bass, and other small bottomfish while Flounder fishing. Thanks for a fun trip and thanks for the great review Dana!
This morning started off great with good Red Drum fishing. After that we headed out and caught all the Ribbonfish we wanted. They were really biting good! We tried to find a Cobia for awhile but never saw one then ended the trip with some shark fishing. Plan A B and D worked out great! We will get C next time guys!
Yancy and family
This morning we had some pretty nasty storms so my guys opted to reschedule their trip. This afternoon Yancy and his family opted to brave some less than ideal weather because it was their only day available and they really wanted to go. We toughed it out in some rough conditions and were rewarded with a great catch of Ribbonfish. The first bait in the water got nailed and it was great action. Thanks Guys, you are troopers!
David Bret and Jean
Today we had a 2 boat group with Sarah Gardner on the Fly Girl. David, Bret and Jean were on the Sneaky and we had a great day. We started off chumming and we caught so many Sharks I lost count! After that we headed north and caught a bunch of Ribbonfish on light tackle. We ended the day catching Red Drum for everybody We let the Drum go but brought back a few Sharks and Ribbonfish to eat. The Fly girl caught tons of fish as well. Thanks for a fun day guys
Derek in the Morning Tom in the afternoon
This morning Derek and the guys headed out to a pretty weed line and tried for Cobia or Mahi. Some of the best habitat I’ve seen all year but all we caught was one Remora. We ended up finding a huge school of Ribbonfish and had fun catching them for the last couple hours. This afternoon Tom Mutton came back for a repeat visit on the Sneaky. Ribbonfishing was good but we found a school of Drum and caught 9 for Chris, Nick and Chris. Tom even reeled one in. Thanks for the repeat business Tom!
Joe and the Gephardts
This morning John Phipps wanted to target Red Drum so we focused on them and caught some really nice ones! In the afternoon the Gephardt family from Atlanta Georgia wanted some steady action in calm waters with the kids so we stayed in the sound and caught lots of croakers, blues, pigfish and pinfish. We ended the day with a nice Red to top it off. The kids had a big time and so did I!
Myrna Stephanie Melissa and Mark
Today Myrna, Mark, Stephanie and Melissa headed out for some fun on the Sneaky. We didn’t have the right conditions for Drum fishing so we went east and did some chumming. The Sharks were biting good and we caught a bunch then went to look for a Cobia. Storms started popping up and the wind started to blow so we headed in and tried for Drum with some better conditions and caught a nice one before it was time to head in. Thanks for a fun morning!
Nate Chris and Dana
Today Nate Chris and Dana headed out on a beautiful morning. We started off with some really good Red Drum fishing. After everybody caught a few we headed out in search of something different. We tried one spot with no luck then ran south to a pretty change and did some slow trolling. We had a giant Manta Ray swim right up to the boat that had a Cobia with it and we got him! After that we saw a big leatherback Sea Turtle but he didn’t have any company. Not bad for a half day! Thanks for a fun morning guys. Click on the link for a short video of the huge Manta Ray just as we hooked up on the Cobia swimming with it.MOV_5059.MOV
Adam And Joe
Today Adam and Joe had a fun time on the Sneaky. We started off catching a few Red Drum but after a hot start it slowed down so we headed out to the ocean. We did a little chumming and caught a bunch of sharks then went on the look for a Cobia but never saw one. Beautiful day out there. Thanks guys!
The Smith Family
Today the Smith Family joined me for a fun time on the Sneaky. We had great Red Drum fishing to start the day. After we caught all we wanted we headed out to the ocean for a while but the breeze picked up an it was a bit too choppy to go where we needed to. We headed back in the sound for some bottom fishing to end the day. Thanks Peter, enjoyed having your family aboard today!
Cobia and Drum
Tom and the boys headed out on the Sneaky today and things started off a little slow. We caught one nice Red Drum and the grass moved in so we headed out to the ocean. We tried a little chumming then went on the move and missed a King Mackerel then caught a nice Cobia. On the way back in we tried for Drum again and they were snappin! Everyone caught a couple and we headed in. Thanks Tom, enjoyed the day.
Chuck Luke and Johnathan
This afternoon Chuck, Luke and Johnathan headed out on the Sneaky and we started off chumming. We caught a couple nice Sharpies but missed several bites. With some questionable weather on the horizon we decided to head back closer to shore to try for Red Drum. Turned out to be a good move. We had a big school swim right up to the boat and caught several sight casting with trout rods and 8 pound test. Johnathan caught two on light tackle over 30 inches and did the best job I’ve ever seen for such a young man. Way to go guys!
John and DJ
John Burgner came for a return visit on the Sneaky with his friend DJ this morning. We tried some chumming but only came up with one baby Spinner shark so we headed back in to look for Drum. We found a school in clear shallow water and enjoyed some light tackle sight casting for Reds up to 32 inches. John is on heck of an angler and really made me look good today hooking all the fish we caught. Great job John!
Great Day Tuesday
Today Hunter, Emerson, Jamie and David had lots of fun on the Sneaky. The morning started off with a bang. We caught more than a dozen Red Drum up to 34 inches right off the bat. Then we decided to head out deeper for some chumming and caught 4 Sharpnose Sharks, a Big Remora and a 37 inch Cobia. On the way in we found a school of Big Drum and Hunter caught one around 40 pounds! We found them one more time but had some bad luck and didn’t get them. All in all a great day on the Sneaky!
Today Alex, Ayden, Al and Bobby had a great day on the Sneaky. We started off chumming for sharks and caught several Sharpies. We also caught a bunch of Ribbonfish while we were at it including the biggest one I’ve ever seen. After that we decided to go look for some Red Drum on the way in and we found them fast and caught a couple for everyone before heading in. Great time with a great family on the Sneaky. Happy Birthday Alex!
Thursday and friday
The last couple days have been much slower fishing for the most part with a windshift and rough seas. We have been staying in the sound and conditions have been tough for Drum fishing. The Sea Mullet fishing has been good plus a few nice Flounders, Bluefish, puffers, Croakers, Spot, Grey Trout and other bottom Dwellers. Had some great kids Yesterday and today and they caught lots of nice Sea Mullets. Thomas even caught a citation 1.5 pound Mullet and Dom caught some double headers too! Great fun with some great kids on the Sneaky
Friday afternoon
This afternoon one of my best friends in the world Dave Mason brought his friends Gary, Paul and Margret down for a trip on the Sneaky. We wanted to catch Red Drum on light tackle jigging and it didn’t take Dave long to hook one! Gary soon followed and Margret hooked 2 but one pulled the hook. Dave got another soon after and then the school disappeared. We tried another spot with no luck and decided to go catch some Ribbonfish. We had lots of fun with them and headed home. Dave and his crew did a great job casting to all their fish like pro’s and released everything they caught. Thanks Dave, love ya buddy!
Thursday afternoon
Doug, Jean, Devin and Kerrin had a fun time on the Sneaky this afternoon. We started off with Ribbonfish and Kerrin was on fire! She outfished the guys by double. After we caught a bunch of them we headed in for some Red Drum action. We caught several and Doug got a 35 incher that put up a heck of a fight on light tackle. Thanks guys, fun afternoon!
Thursday Morning
This morning Laura, Pat, Noah and Nevin had some great fishing on the Sneaky. We started off with some of the best Drum fishing of the year with several double hookups. After we caught too many to count we headed out and chummed up some Ribbonfish and caught a bunch on light tackle with jigs. Great time with a great family!
Monday with Tom Groves
Tom Groves from Arlington NJ fished on the Sneaky with me this morning. We started off looking for a flounder but caught plenty of Spot, Croakers and pigfish instead. We decided to try for some Drum and were not disappointed. Tom caught 5 back to back up to 31 inches. Tried a couple more drifts for Flounder since Tom really wanted one for dinner but thunderstorms chased us back to the dock a little early. Nice laid back morning with a really nice laid back guy. Thanks Tom!
Sunday July 5th
Sunday was a fun day! Had Michelle, Matt and Pat out on the Sneaky and we had really good Drum fishing. We tried the ocean for a while but came up empty so we headed back in and caught more Red Drum and got a few on trout rods. Most were over the slot up to 33 inches but we had one in the slot. Thanks for a fun sunday guys!
Red Drum on the Sneaky
Today I had Pete, Missy, Greg and Brad. We had a great time catching Drum. We caught several early then went looking for some flounder but came up empty. We searched the flats for a sight fishing opportunity and ended the day with a couple more oversized Drum. We let them all go because they were just too big, between 30 and 33 inches. Thanks for a fun day guys!Red Drum
