This morning Joe and Mike caught lots of Speckled Trout in the sound. We only had a couple keepers but plenty of action. This afternoon Bill and Lucian started off with a good Trout bite but it slowed down after the tide changed. We hit a few more spots before finding a school of Bluefish and Striped Bass busting on top. Great action to end the afternoon trip. Thanks for fishing hard on a tough windy day guys!
This morning Dave and Olivia started off Trout fishing. We caught a few small ones and one tiny Red Drum but it was very slow. We tried some bottom fishing and caught one Flounder lots of Pig Fish and a few puffers. We ended the trip looking for Red Drum. No bites at our first stop but at our second spot we found a big hungry school. We had steady action with fish from 26 to 34 inches. Bad thunderstorms forced us to postpone our afternoon trip again today.
This morning Steve brought his boys out for some Trout fishing. We started off fishing a slough that produced a few Trout, a small Red Drum and a really nice Flounder that spit the hook at the boat. We moved to shallow water and caught a lot more Trout with more keepers than our first stop. We ended our trip looking for some bigger Red Drum and we got one right off the bat but thunderstorms chased us in soon after we got there. Thanks for a fun morning guys!
This afternoon Bill and Henry stated off Trout fishing. We hit a few spots but it was pretty slow We decided to go look for Red Drum and hit the jackpot. We had steady action with fish from 30 to 35 inches on light tackle. Henry and Bill did a great job. Thanks guys!
This afternoon Mike and his boys headed out to the ocean. We started off trolling but only caught a couple Bluefish. We went east and found a nice grass line and saw a nice Cobia that was willing to bite a jig. Mike did a great job catching a 30 pounder in no time. A little later we saw a group of 4 and got a smaller one to bite. We didn’t see another so we put out some chum and caught an Atlantic Sharpnose Shark but no Cobia came to our slick. This morning Tom had his second half day this week. The first trip we stayed in the sound and caught Speckled Trout. Today we fished the ocean and caught a small Cobia and a bunch of Jacks on light tackle. We went east in search of Dolphin but the water stayed green way out so we came back in to look for Cobia but never saw a big one. Thanks Tom, really enjoyed fishing with you guys!
This morning Carrie and Mike said they really wanted o catch something big so we decided to head out to the ocean and do some chumming. We started off slow with some chilly water but relocated to the south and had lots of action. We caught lots of Sharpnose Sharks and a couple of small Spinners. We also hooked a big Hammerhead but he pulled the hook. A nice Cobia swam in the slick but he refused a live Eel and live Croaker. When we came in we had fun trying to catch Stripers bare handed. Good Speckled Trout fishing again today for Adam and Kimberly. Not as many keepers as yesterday but we managed 4 nice ones for the frying pan. Kimberly was dialed in and as usual the girl out fished the guys. Thanks for a fun trip!
After some slow fishing in the ocean yesterday Ron, Ron and Jamie decided to try some Speckled Trout fishing in the sound. Turned out to be a good call as we had lots of action on light spinning gear. We caught 10 keepers (one of which the captain accidentally dropped overboard after measuring), a nice keeper Puppy Drum and one Flounder. We had lots of smaller Trout as well. This afternoon Jim and his family started off catching a few Blues but we got a hot tip about some Ribbonfish action so we headed east to check it out. We found a massive school and had a ball catching these tasty critters jigging with light tackle. After we had all we wanted we went shark fishing and hooked a really big Hammerhead but we lost him right before we could get some good pics. Thanks for a fun afternoon guys!
This morning Karl, Karl Jr, Zach and Matt lucked out with beautiful weather despite a sketchy forecast. We started off chumming and jumped off a small Spinner Shark right off the bat then landed a Sharpnose and a big Spinner around 100 pounds. We decided to go on the troll and caught several King Mackerel but none were big enough to keep. We also caught 2 Mahi with one being a nice Gaffer. Thanks for a fun morning guys!
This morning Jesse Theresa and Jaden headed out for some Shark fishing. We started out slow but after finding some warmer water the fishing got hot! We caught 2 Hammerheads, 2 Big Spinner Sharks and a Sandbar Shark back to back. We also pulled off a couple more and lost a huge Spinner after it jumped completely out of the water several times. At the end of our last drift we hooked a big Mahi Mahi that Jaden reeled in like a pro! We headed inside to look for Red Drum but some nasty thunderstorms were coming so we headed in. Great job guys!
This morning Evan and Lauren had tough conditions with a stiff Southwest breeze. The water temps were very cool compared to yesterday but we managed to catch a Hammerhead, a small Cobia and a bunch of Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks. Always nice to have a fellow VCU Rams fan on board. We had a split group with the Cast Away this morning. Dave had Keith and his family and I had Dan and his family. We stared off trolling and our group caught a few Bluefish while the Cast Away caught a couple Spanish Mackerel. After catching a few Dan was ready o try to catch a shark for the kids to see so we put out the chum. We hooked a big one right away but he got off then we caught a small Cobia. A while later we caught an Amberjack then we finally got a double header of Sharp Nose Sharks for the Kids. Cast Away also got a couple Jacks and a keeper Cobia. Sorry for the smudgy pics, need to clean my lens. Riley took the wheel for the ride home and she did a great job driving! Thanks for a fun family trip guys.

Michael Dupont and the boys went out for a shark chumming trip. We had non stop action with Atlantic Sharpnose and also caught a few Hammerheads. After we wore the boys out we went looking for Red Drum and hooked a really nice one but he pulled the hook at the boat. In all my years of charter fishing I have never seen two boys so thoroughly exhausted! Lost count of all the sharks we caught but these guys never quit. Great job!
Today Dave Mason and Jeff Deschon brought the boys out for A fun day of fishing. We started off trolling a weed line but it was very scattered and hard to follow so we decided to try some chumming. We had great action with big Spinner Sharks hooking them steady through the morning. Later we headed a bit north and immediately caught a Cobia but had no more shark action. The weed line came together so we went back to trolling and hooked a nice King Mackerel but he spit the hook at the boat. We tried to find the big Drum in the afternoon but they didn’t show today. Always a pleasure to fish with one of my best friends and fishing buddy for the last 20 plus years. Love ya Dave!
This afternoon Steve and his family headed out for another chumming trip. Fishing wasn’t as steady as this morning but we hooked a huge Spinner Shark that almost spooled us until we got the boat in gear and chased it down. He made a series of spectacular jumps before cutting off the heavy leader. A little while later we had a Cobia swim right up to the boat and Steve put him in the box like a pro. This morning Stan Geiken and his 3 sons headed out for a chumming trip. We had great action catching lots of Spinner Sharks from 60 to 100 pounds, one Sharp nose and one nice Hammerhead. Dad showed his boys that 70 years young is not too old to whip a big sharks tail. What a fun morning with a fantastic bunch of guys!
This morning we had a split group with DOA and I got the young guys. They had a bet with the old guys and the young guys won. We caught a small Spinner Shark, 2 small King Mackerel and 2 nice Gaffer size Dolphin including a big Bull! This afternoon the wind breezed up and put a damper on the mornings fishing but we had a few shark bites a big needlefish and then came in the sound and caught bottomfish after it got too rough. Todays morning and afternoon trips were tough with high wind and seas but we had excellent shark fishing, We caught Spinners and Hammerheads with one Spinner well over 100 pounds that put up an intense fight. We also got spooled by one and had to chase down another before pulling the hook. Great action on the Sneaky today!
This morning Richard Will and Tyler headed out after a late start. We had some missed opportunities but ended up catching Dolphin and King Mackerel. Their original captain wasn’t feeling well and I was glad to get these great guys on the water. Hope you feel better soon Sarah. Happy 4th!
This morning Tommy Sidney Mary and Owen headed out in search of inshore Dolphin. It took us a little while to find the right conditions due to low light and terrible visibility but we found a pretty break about 2 miles off the beach. Owen scored first with a nice gaffer on a Trout rod. The big guys got a couple smaller ones then Mary got the big fish of the day on the Trout rod too! We like to catch big fish on light tackle on the Sneaky and there’s nothing better than casting to big Dolphin with 10 pound test!
This morning James Simmons brought is 2 boys out for some fishing..We had some tough luck but we caught a couple King Mackerel and some Remoras. We jumped off a big Dolphin early and at the end of the day we hooked a 50 pound Cobia but he pulled the hook. Thanks guys, hope we have better luck next time.
This morning John and his crew had perfect conditions for Dolphin. We got on a beautiful color change pretty close to the beach and worked to the east. We had great action on light tackle and ended up with 7 nice Mahi Mahi up to around 20 pounds and jumped off 4 or 5. We ended the day with a double after a second fish swam in and we got him on a Trout rod with 10 pound test. Storms started popping up so we called it a little early but not bad for a short half day trip!
Steve Alex Nick and Bradley headed out this morning in search of inshore Dolphin. Conditions had changed from yesterday so we had to search around for a while but we ended up with several Remoras, 4 Sharks and 4 nice Mahi Mahi up to 25 pounds. Steve got one on a Trout rod with a jig right behind the boat. Gotta love those half day Gaffers!
Today Nicole brought the guys out for a morning trip. We started out catching small Stripers jigging. After that we headed out to the ocean and caught some nice Spanish Mackerel, Bonita Mackerel and Bluefish. We decided to put out some chum and got some great shark action. We caught 2 Sharpnose right away and also hooked 2 beasts that turned out to be true Tiger Sharks. We fought them for about an hour and got Daves almost to the boat before it bit through the heavy leader. Wish we had gotten a good picture but it looked like an 8-10 foot Tiger after getting a good look at it. Thanks guys, what a fun day!
Today Keith took his father Ken out for a fathers day gift. We caught lots of Speckled Trout, a Flounder and a few Small Rockfish. We lost two really nice Trout at the boat. Thanks for fishing hard on a breezy day guys!
Linda Harper brought her friends Bob and Dick out for a morning trip. We caught 2 beautiful 18 inch Flounders to start the day. A bit later we found a good school of Speckled Trout and got 3 nice keepers. Thanks Linda, I knew you would make me look good!
