October 1st

This morning Wiley, JD and Deb headed out with some tough weather. After running back to the dock to dodge some heavy rain we headed back out and found some Trout. We caught about 15 including one of the biggest ones of the season that JD got on the green grub. We had to work for them but these guys fished hard and it paid off in the end. Thanks guys!

September 27th

This morning WC and Joe had beautiful weather for some Trout fishing. We had a slow start but tried a different area and found some willing fish. We caught a handful of Trout a few puppy drum and one Flounder. Thanks for a fun morning guys!

September 24th

This morning Eric Breedlove and his crew started out Trout fishing but just when they started biting good Stephen hooked something a lot bigger than a Trout. After an hour long battle we landed a 46 inch Trophy Red Drum on a Trout rod with 10 pound test! Stephen did a great job fighting this beast and it was by far the biggest Drum I’ve ever seen landed on such light tackle. We ended up with a nice catch of Trout up to 18 inches too. Great job guys!img_3250 img_3258 img_3242

August 23rd

Good Trout fishing the last couple days. Yesterday Bill Botts had the boat to himself and caught lots of nice fish. We released them all since he didn’t want to keep any. Today Barry Yohey and his crew had great action in the morning. They only wanted to keep the bigger ones so we kept 10 from 16 to 19 inches and let the rest of them go even though most were over the 14 inch minimum. Thanks guys!img_3223 img_3225 img_3220

September 18th

This morning my buddy Joe Perez brought his friends Mark, Aleisha and Tyler out for some Trout fishing. We caught our 5 man limit of beautiful Speckled Trout up to 19 inches casting jigs on light tackle. We released several undersized fish but over all the class of fish was bigger than we’ve seen all year. We also released a few Puppy Drum and one Striper. Thanks for setting this up Joe!img_3204 img_3206 img_3198 img_3209

September 13th

This morning my high school Soccer coach Larry Volk and his brother Ralph did some Trout fishing in the sound. We caught lots of Speckled Trout, a keeper Flounder, a Grey Trout and a Striper. We kept a few for dinner but released most of them to fight another day. Really enjoyed seeing you after so long coach!img_3162 img_3164

September 11th

This morning Derek Moyer and his crew started out Trout fishing. We caught and released some nice ones since they didn’t want to keep any. With catch and release in mind we decided to try for some Red Drum and we weren’t disappointed. We had good action with keeper sized and undersized Drum and also lost one that was well over the slot limit. Thanks for a fun trip guys!img_3151 img_3145 img_3148 img_3154

September 1st

Today Glenn Plomchok and his kids had beautiful slick calm conditions in the sound. We started out Speckled Trout fishing and the bite was on right from the start. We caught our limit of keepers up to 18 inches before 9am. We also released lots of smaller fish plus about a dozen other keepers after we got our limit. We left the Trout biting and went to look for some Drum but the kids were worn out so we headed in a little early after looking around on the flats for a bit. Thanks Glenn, really enjoyed fishing with you again!img_3127 img_3129 img_3134 img_3141

August 31st

This morning Bob John and Eric had beautiful weather on a day that was supposed to have tropical storm conditions. We went Speckled Trout fishing in the sound and things started out slow but at our second spot we had really good action jigging with light tackle. We got our limit and went to look for Drum but only saw one small group of little ones on the move. Thanks for a fun morning guys!img_3123

August 29th

This morning David Overby and the girls had a sketchy forecast but it turned out to be beautiful! We went searching for Speckled Trout and it was a bit slow at first. After picking away at a few here and there we tried a whole different area and it was game on. We got our limit with Trout up to 18 inches and released just as many jigging with light tackle. Thanks Dave, great fishing with you my old friend!img_3110 img_3116 img_3118 img_3120

August 27th

This afternoon Kevin Juliet and Kevin Jr had the option of Trout fishing or going to the ocean to catch sharks. As usual the kids opted for sharks! We put out some chum and had instant action with Sharpnose and Spinner Sharks. At one point there were 5 swimming around the boat while we were fighting 2. After we caught enough of them we went looking for False Albacore and caught some on Trout rods with 10 pound test. Lots of fun for the kids today!img_3096 img_3107

August 25th

Today Richard Jamie Luke and Landon started out casting to Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel at the inlet. We caught a few Blues and 2 Mackerel but the bite slowed so we decided to go for Speckled Trout. We were getting a lot of small fish at first but at our second spot there were a lot more keepers and we ended with a wide open bite of nice Trout every cast. After releasing many more keepers we decided to head out to the ocean and found a beautiful color change. We were hoping for sharks and Cobia but found lots of Mahi swimming down the line and ended with a nice gaffer. Luke and Landon are two of the best junior anglers I’ve ever seen. Great job guys!img_3085 img_3077 img_3076

August 23rd

Today Adrian Michael and Terri started out Trout fishing and they were biting from the first cast. We had our limit before 9am so we went to the inlet and tried some Flounder fishing. Michael caught a double header Flounder and Sea Mullet on the first drop but no keepers so we decided to try casting for Stripers. We caught a bunch of them and also hooked a huge Trout that got away. Still waiting on some pictures from Terri so I will post them later. Fun morning with a great family!img_3067 img_3072

August 22nd

This morning Dennis Canada and his family headed out in search of Speckled Trout. It started out slow but just when we were about to give up they started biting. We had steady action from there out releasing tons of fish and getting our limit. Jessica was on fire catching the most and also our biggest fish of the day. Great job guys!img_3053 img_3056 img_3065

August 21st

This afternoon Steve Brent Will and Anthony went on a mission to find Red Drum. Steve has always wanted to sight cast to them. We looked for 3 hours in the areas they were in the last few days with no luck. Towards the end of the day we decided to run north and found a friend on a school and we sight casted to them for an hour with lots of hookups. Steve did a great job hooking them and netting them so I could keep us on the school. We had the school swim right to us several times after shutting off the motor and it was an awesome sight seeing a couple hundred Drum swim right up to the boat. Great job in the bottom of the 9th guys!20160821_161139_resized 20160821_162322_resized 20160821_162834_resized 20160821_162931_resized

August 20th

Today Rawls Jones and his daughter Sien started out Trout fishing but we only caught a few so we headed out to the ocean with the plan to try the Trout later on. We found a school of big Red Drum on top and sight casted to them on spinning gear. They were the big ones measuring from 48 to 52 inches! After we had our fun with them we headed back in to try the Trout again and this time they were biting good. We kept a half dozen up to 19 inches and released the rest including several other keeper sized fish. Great job guys! Thanks for coming back and fishing on the Sneaky.img_0382 img_0399 img_3046

August 19th Afternoon

This afternoon Luke Amy Jenna and Ethan tried Trout fishing for the first time. None of them had ever casted a spinning rod before but they picked it up quick and were all casting like pro’s in no time. We started off slow but tried a different spot and it was game on! We kept our 4 man limit of 16 since we already kept my daily limit on this mornings trip and released lots of undersized fish and a bunch of other would be keepers. The kids were on fire catching most of the big ones up to 18 inches! Great job guys!img_0815 img_0801-1 img_0817 img_0831

August 19th

This morning Terry was back for his second trip this week with a new crew. We opted for Trout fishing again since there was a fog bank coming down the beach. It started out a little slow but once the water started moving the Trout started snapping! We caught our 5 man limit of 20 up to 18 inches and released about 40 more including about a dozen keepers. Great action with some great anglers!imagejpeg_0-5 imagejpeg_0-3

August 18th

This morning Terry and his crew did some Trout fishing on the flats. We picked away at them catching about 15 and ended up with 7 nice keepers. This afternoon Randy and his crew started out catching Stripers on light tackle. After having plenty of action we headed to the ocean to look for something bigger. We spotted a huge school of big Red Drum cruising on top and hooked 2. One of them pulled the hook but we landed a 52 inch fork length Drum that was as fat as they get with multiple spots on its tail. After the fight the clouds rolled in and we lost sight of the school. Thunderstorms started popping up so we headed in a bit early. Thanks for a fun day guys!20160818_135020 img_3031 img_20160818_134914701

August 16th Afternoon

This afternoon Brian Lohman and his crew started off catching Stripers and Blues on light tackle. We decided to head out to the ocean but weren’t doing much til I got a call from a good friend. We headed south and found several schools of big Red Drum on top and sight casted to them with bucktail jigs. The schools were big and it was quite a sight to see them in big numbers on top. Thanks guys that was fun!img_3008 img_3015 img_3021 img_3026

August 16th

img_3004 img_3006This morning Clint and Clay brought the girls fishing and lady luck was in the air. We started out Trout fishing with a slow bite but we caught 8 with 2 nice keepers. Clay caught a 9 pound citation Sheepshead on a Trout jig with 10 pound test in 4 feet of water! Never seen that before! Next we went to find some Red Drum and we found a nice school of 30 to 34 inchers biting well. Next up we hit the bridge and caught lots of Stripers with a few Blues mixed in. Thanks for coming back to fish on the Sneaky again this year guys!img_2996img_2999-1

August 15th

After taking a few days off to visit some old friends we were back at it today. George and his family started off Trout fishing but it was very slow so we headed to the inlet. We caught a bunch of Stripers and a few Blues near the bridge then we tried for Red Drum and got a really nice one. After that we went to the ocean but the water was cold so we tried trolling for a bit before heading in. Thanks guys!img_2993 img_2982 img_2985 img_2990

August 10th Afternoon

This afternoon my old buddy John Iman brought his wife Cindy and their two girls down for a trip. We started off Speckled Trout fishing and landed on a nice school catching a keeper on the first cast. We had lots of throwbacks too but we got our 5 man limit of 20 Trout so we decided to head to the ocean. We had a steady pick of Moonfish and one nice Spanish. John has fished with me since the beginning when I was an offshore mate and followed me to whatever boat I was working on throughout the years. Glad to have him and his family on the Sneaky on my birthday. Best present a man could ask for!IMG_2973 IMG_2976IMG_1067 (2)

August 10th

This morning Fred and his crew headed straight to the ocean. We found big marks right outside the inlet so we dropped our lines and started catching Moonfish and False Albacore. A bit later the fish got on top busting bait so we casted jigs on light tackle to them and had a big school stay around the boat for a while. Later we found a few Spanish Mackerel to add to the catch with lots more Albacore releases. Thanks for a fun morning guysIMG_2963 IMG_2964 IMG_2966

August 9th

Today Pete and Bradley started off Trout fishing. We caught lots of Trout but most were below the keeper size. We decided to head out to the ocean and found big schools of Moonfish with a few Spanish mixed in. We caught them on light spinning gear and on the fly for a couple hours. We went back in the sound to end the day and caught more Trout but only managed one more keeper. Thanks for a fun day guys!imagejpeg_0 (2)

August 8th

Today I had a very special trip with Paul Yadnek and his friend Joe. Paul suffers from MS and his condition has gotten worse here lately so he wanted to do one more fishing trip before this horrible disease makes him unable to go any more. We started off Speckled Trout fishing and caught quite a few with 5 keepers including a fat 18.5 incher. We decided to head to the ocean because Paul always wanted to catch a Spanish Mackerel. We found tons of life and caught Moonfish, False Albacore, Bullet Tunas, small King Mackerel and 3 really big Spanish trolling and casting jigs on light tackle. Really proud of Paul for toughing it out with so much action and not letting his condition keep him from doing what he loves!IMG_2946 IMG_2947 IMG_2950

August 6th

This morning Mary Mike and David had windy conditions to start. We caught a Flounder Bluefish and Striper to start but the Trout were not biting. We tried a few more spots and finally found a willing school along some shoreline. Great end to a fun day. Thanks guys!IMG_2918 IMG_2925 IMG_2931 IMG_2939

August 5th

This afternoon Ferdinando Bruno took his boys Massi, Vittorio and Alex out on the Sneaky. Massi loves to fish so his dad wanted him to try the salt water game. Let me tell you, this kid is a natural! Massi caught about 10 Trout, most of them keepers, while the rest of the guys struggled to get a couple bites. They didn’t want to keep any fish so we decided to do something different and found the Stripers and Blues chasing bait on top. Everybody was catching them this time and we had a blast! Thanks for a fun afternoon!IMG_2900 IMG_2904 IMG_2905

August 5th

This Morning Nate Bubcek his brothers Chris and Collin and their Grandma Connie started off good with Speckled Trout. The bite quickly slowed so we tried another area and found a big hungry school. We caught our limit of 20 Trout between 15 and 18 inches in no time and released many more keepers plus several small Striped Bass. All our fish were caught casting jigs on light tackle. At 81 years old Connie was killing them! She’s my new hero. Great job guys!IMG_2875 IMG_2880 IMG_2883 IMG_2890

August 4th

Today we had decent Speckled Trout fishing in the morning and great Trout fishing in the afternoon. Ken and his group were dialed in on a nice school and we got our 5 man limit of Specks from 15 to 18 inches! Great to see the bigger ones showing up and it should only get better from here into the fall. After we caught our limit and released about a half dozen more we went to the inlet and found a school of Stripers and Blues chasing sardines on the surface. We caught lots of small stripers and a couple Blues to add to the cooler. Thanks guys that was a blast!IMG_2856 IMG_2848 IMG_2860 IMG_2866
